Druk Shito Kai is an esteemed organization founded by a collective of dedicated karatekas who have been passionately practicing and teaching Shito-ryu karate since the 1990s. The central objective behind establishing Druk Shito Kai is to nurture a dynamic Karate community comprising committed practitioners of the Shito Ryu style and other compatible styles of Karate, all aligned with the organization's overarching mission and vision.

Becoming a member of Druk Shito Kai offers an enriching journey into the world of traditional and sports karate, where individuals of all backgrounds are welcome to join our vibrant karate community. As a member, you'll have access to knowledgeable Shito-Ryu karate instruction from skilled instructors who are committed to your growth and development. Whether you're a novice seeking to embark on a path of self-discovery or a professional Shito-Ryu Karate looking to deepen your skills, Druk Shito Kai provides a supportive environment where you can thrive. Membership also allows you to participate in tournaments, seminars, and events, connecting you with fellow enthusiasts and fostering lifelong friendships. Individual Membership

Druk Shito Kai extends individual membership to adult karate practitioners aged 18 and above, holding at least a Sho-Dan rank in any karate style. Prospective members interested in joining the organization are encouraged to submit a membership application.

Membership Requirements

  • Applicants must be aged 18 or older.
  • A minimum of Shodan rank in any style of Karate is required.
  • Successful completion of a background check is mandatory.
  • Completion of all necessary training requirements is necessary.

A clear copy as a PDF, JPG or PNG, up to 10 MB. It is used to verify your rank.

Half-body photograph

A recent, clear JPG or PNG. It appears on your profile, ID card and membership certificate.

SafeSport certificate (optional)

If you have a current SafeSport or equivalent certificate, you may add it with its expiry date. You will also consent to a background check, which we arrange.

PayPal or a card

The non-refundable fee is paid once, after your details and documents have been entered.

How membership works

  1. ApplyEnter your personal and karate details and upload your documents.
  2. Pay $75Your payment is confirmed directly with PayPal.
  3. Pending approvalYou receive a confirmation and a receipt by email.
  4. VerificationThe Super Admin reviews your documents, payment and Dan rank, and arranges your background check.
  5. ApprovalYour Member ID is issued and your account is created.
  6. Member profileSet your password and sign in to your profile.
